Hospital Tests
Seven procedures that can only be done inside a hospital, each at its own station.
X-Ray, CT and MRI are read at a real radiology workstation, see Imaging Workstation. Surgery is played procedure by procedure, see Surgery & Procedures.
If several tests share one station, the laboratory runs blood tests, cultures and DNA, you get a menu to pick which one.
🩻 X-Ray
Station: X-Ray Table · 8 seconds · $250 · Rank 1+

Detects: fractures
The cheapest way to turn a suspected fracture into a confirmed one, which is what a cast requires. The abdomen film shows the pelvis.
You walk away with the films as an xray_film item, see Imaging Workstation.
On the X-ray you find the break: click it on the film to mark it. Breaks you don't mark are not confirmed. See Imaging Workstation.
🧠 CT Scan
Station: CT Scanner · 9 seconds · $450 · Rank 1+
Detects: fractures, internal bleeding, concussion, collapsed lung, blood around the heart, head and chest only (arms and legs go to X-ray). Read automatically when you finish.
The workhorse. Faster than an MRI and it confirms everything a chest wound can hide. If a patient was shot in the chest or hit by a car, this is your scan. In the field, the ultrasound is the closest you get.
🧲 MRI Scan
Station: MRI Table · 12 seconds · $600 · Rank 1+

Detects: internal bleeding, concussion, fractures, deep infection
Slower and more expensive than a CT, but it is the only scan that finds a deep infection, and it also shows spinal cord injury and bleeding under the skull. Read automatically when you finish.
🧪 Blood Test
Station: Laboratory · 10 seconds · $180 · Rank 1+

Requires a sample. Draw blood from the patient first (Procedures → Draw blood) into a blood_tube, then run it at the lab.
Detects:
| Blood type | Needed before any transfusion |
| White cell count | Signs of infection |
| Glucose | |
| Toxicology | What drugs and alcohol are in their system |
| Diseases | Confirms cold, influenza, pneumonia, food poisoning, dehydration, sepsis and diabetes by name |

🧫 Blood Culture
Station: Laboratory · 14 seconds · $300 · Rank 1+
Requires a sample.
Detects: bacterial infection, sepsis, deep infection

Use it when a patient has a fever and low blood pressure and you need to prove it is bacterial before committing to a course of antibiotics.
🧬 DNA Analysis
Station: Laboratory · 12 seconds · $350
Requires a dna_sample: collected from a dead body with a dna_swab.
Identifies an unknown body. Part of the permadeath and morgue workflow.
🔪 Surgery
Station: Surgery Table · 20 seconds · $2,500 · Rank 3+

Treats: gunshot & shrapnel wounds, confirmed fractures, internal bleeding
The patient must be lying on the surgery table and sedated. Give propofol before you start, or the operation will not begin.
The table builds an operation plan, one procedure per problem, each played as its own minigame:
| Problem | Procedure |
|---|---|
| Gunshot / shrapnel wound | Bullet extraction |
| Confirmed fracture (arms, legs, pelvis) | Fracture fixation |
| Internal bleeding | Bleed repair |
Every operation costs 300 ml of blood, plus 60 ml per mistake. A procedure that fails (5 mistakes) is a complication: +500 ml. Transfuse first if the patient is low.
Surgery is the treatment for internal bleeding. There is no drug, no bandage and no field procedure that will fix it, the only other way is a chest drain, and only for a small bleed into the chest.
Full walkthrough of every procedure: Surgery & Procedures.
📄 Results

Results are shown as a proper medical report, and are saved into:
- the patient's Findings tab,
- their medical record,
- any report you write afterwards.
🎮 Turning the minigames off
Set Config.UI.minigames = false and every medical minigame, the imaging workstation, pipette, surgery procedures, suturing, IV access, the hands-on checks and field procedures, CPR, autopsy, becomes a plain progress bar instead.
Useful for servers that want the medical depth without the skill checks. To do it for one department only, turn on Easy mode for that job in /emsadmin → Staff → Jobs.
