Decides which of your framework jobs count as medical staff.
Enabling a job
Tick any job in the list. All of its members immediately get:
- the EMS tablet,
- the patient care panel,
- the duty toggle, lockers, cloakroom, shops and garage,
- dispatch alerts and the pager,
- hospital equipment access.
You can enable several. A server can run ambulance paramedics, doctor hospital staff and fire first responders side by side, each with their own rank permissions.
The manager rank
Each enabled job gets a manager rank.
Anyone at or above that rank can edit the permissions of every grade below them, from inside the EMS tablet, without an admin.
This is how you hand a department over. Set the Chief's rank as the manager rank and they run their own permissions from then on.
Easy mode
Each enabled job has an Easy mode switch.
Turn it on and that department's minigames become plain progress bars, the hands-on checks, field procedures, chest procedures, IV access, suturing, CPR, the imaging workstation and surgery. Everyone else keeps playing them.
Config.UI.minigames = false still turns minigames off for the whole server.
Defaults
On the very first server start, the ambulance job is enabled automatically with default permissions, so the script works before you configure anything.
The manager rank defaults to the job's boss grade, or its highest grade if it has none.
Where it is stored
In kaj_settings in your database, and replicated to every client as GlobalState['kaj:staff'].
Changes apply instantly, everyone's permissions refresh without a restart.
