Prescriptions
Write a prescription and the patient collects the medication at any pharmacy, in their own time.

✍️ Writing one
EMS Tablet → Prescriptions, or at discharge in the patient panel.
Requires the Prescribe permission (rank 2+ by default).

| Limit | |
|---|---|
| Dosage | From that drug's preset options |
| Quantity | Up to 10 |
| Refills | Up to 5 |
| Valid for | Up to 60 days (14 by default) |
| Medications on one prescription | Up to 6 |
💉 What can be prescribed
| Drug | Dosages |
|---|---|
| Morphine | 5 mg, 10 mg |
| Tramadol | 50 mg, 100 mg |
| Vicodin | 5/325 mg, 10/325 mg |
| Paracetamol | 500 mg, 1 g |
| Ibuprofen | 200 mg, 400 mg |

| Antiviral | 75 mg |
| Antihistamine | 10 mg |

📃 The paper item
Issuing a prescription hands the patient a prescription item. Using it shows what was prescribed, how many refills are left, and when it expires.
Turn paper copies off with Config.Prescriptions.paperItem = false. The prescription still exists in the system, the patient just has nothing physical to carry.
🏪 Collecting
At any hospital pharmacy, the patient sees their active prescriptions and collects the medication.
The price is the medication's own fee, multiplied by priceMultiplier (1.0 by default). Money goes to the EMS society.
🚫 Revoking
A prescription can be cancelled:
- By the medic who wrote it.
- By anyone with the Revoke prescriptions permission (rank 3+), for anyone's prescription.
This is the tool for dealing with a patient who is doctor-shopping for opioids. A senior doctor can look at a patient's prescription history and cut them off.
⚠️ Prescriptions and addiction
Opioid prescriptions are a real vector for dependence:
| Drug | Addiction gain per dose |
|---|---|
| Fentanyl | 35 |
| Morphine | 22 |
| Vicodin | 12 |
| Tramadol | 10 |
Dependence starts at 60 points. A patient on a 10-quantity morphine prescription with 5 refills can end up thoroughly addicted.
