Stashes
Storage in Kartik Properties is a budget, not a single box. Each property has a total stash budget (slots + weight), and the owner places one or more stashes that each draw from it.
The model
stash_size is the property's total storage budget. Storage comes in two
forms, both drawing an allocation from that budget:
- Furniture stashes: a furniture prop with
feature = { type = 'stash' }(or a safe, type = 'safe'). Placed in the modeler; each carries a per-piece allocation. - Point stashes: invisible placed markers stored in their own table.
Config.Stash.Mode picks which are allowed: 'furniture', 'points', or
'both' (default).
Placing storage
- Furniture stash: radial → Decorate, place a storage prop, set its allocation in the cart, Save.
- Point stash: radial → Property → Stash Point, then place the marker in the world (freecam cursor; E place, ←/→ rotate, ESC cancel) and enter its weight in kg.
Open any stash later by walking to it and pressing E.
Anything you place lives where you put it and is opened there, never from the door menu. That's a deliberate design rule.
Budget & caps
Placing storage is validated against the budget and caps:
- Sum of all allocations + points must fit the property budget.
- Piece count ≤
stashPiecescap. - Optional
Config.Stash.PerItemMaxcaps slots per single stash.
Caps cascade from the block (per-block fitout_caps) → falling back to
Config.Stash.GlobalCap → (Classic mode) Config.Classic.FitoutCaps. Owners can
adjust a property's budget later via the tablet fit-out card (can't shrink below
what's already allocated).
Default starting budget: Config.PropertyDefaults.stash = 40 slots / 200 kg.
Eviction & impound
When a lease ends or a property is repossessed, every stash is sealed into impound, one impound row per stash (a fee applies to the first, the rest are free), and the stash version is bumped so old container IDs can't be reopened. See Renting & Leases.
Fit-out pricing
Charge for fitting storage with Config.FeaturePricing.stash (flat enable +
perSlot). Employee-set fit-outs are floored at the configured minimum. See
Configuration → Properties & Features.
