CCTV Cameras

Place real CCTV cameras inside a property and watch the live feed remotely from anywhere, you don't have to be home. Cameras are a security fit-out with their own cap, and they draw power on the electricity bill.

Placing cameras

  1. Stand inside the property → radial → Property → Cameras.
  2. Choose a label and a camera model, then place the camera on a wall with the freecam cursor (models can be cycled mid-placement with ↑/↓).

The camera stands in the world as a real prop. Manage them (list / add / remove) from the same Cameras radial entry.

  • Models: Config.Cameras.props, 9 validated CCTV props (overridable).
  • Field of view / pitch: Config.Cameras.fov (55) / Config.Cameras.pitch (-8).
  • Cap: cameras in the fit-out cascade (block override → Config.Stash.GlobalCap = 4 → Config.Classic.FitoutCaps = 2).

GTA's wall-mount CCTV props model the lens out the rear of the prop, so the view is offset by Config.Cameras.lensOffset.default (180°). This is handled for you; per-model overrides are supported.

Watching live, from anywhere

Every property is instanced (its own routing bucket), so to see occupants the viewer temporarily joins that bucket.

  1. F7 → open the property → "View Security Cameras (N)".
  2. The interior and its occupants render locally; use the arrow keys to cycle between cameras, Backspace to exit.
  • Works from anywhere, the whole point is watching while you're away.
  • Access: property managers/tenants, or anyone with property access.
  • You can watch the property you're currently standing in too.
  • Watching is refused only if you're inside a different property, or while the property's power is cut.

Interaction with security & power

  • Cameras draw electricity: Config.Electricity.DeviceDraw.camera (8) per camera per cycle. Set to 0 to disable. See Utilities & Billing.
  • Tampering the circuit breaker cuts power and kills live camera viewers for the outage window.

Notes & limits

  • Entrance-mounted cameras aren't visible to bucket-0 passers-by (no global spawner), a known limitation.
  • Cameras placed inside IPL interiors correctly pin the interior so the feed isn't a void.
