Turf Defense
Owning a turf means holding it. From time to time an armed NPC crew moves on a turf, and the gang that owns it has to fight them off before the time runs out.
⚔️ How an attack plays out
- Online members of the owning gang get a warning: which turf is hit, when the attackers arrive (about 90 seconds) and how long they have (10 minutes). The turf is marked on their map.
- Get into the turf. The first wave only shows up once at least one member is inside it, around 40 to 70 m from a member.
- There are 3 waves of 4 attackers. The next wave comes when only 1 attacker of the current one is left.
- Beat every wave in time and the turf is held.
| Result | What happens |
|---|---|
| Held | +300 gang XP, 15,000 dirty money to the treasury, +150 influence in the turf |
| Not held in time | The gang loses 200 influence in the turf |
| Turf changed hands during the attack | The attack ends, no reward and no penalty |
The attackers shoot at any player nearby, not only the owning gang, so keep bystanders away. Like airdrop and contract guards, they leave downed players and on-duty EMS alone.
⏱️ When attacks happen
- On a timer: every 60 minutes there is a 50% chance that one owned turf is attacked. Only turfs whose gang has at least 3 members online can be picked, the same turf is not hit again for 120 minutes, and only one timed attack runs at a time.
- By an admin:
/turfattack [turf name or id]starts an attack on that turf straight away (no cooldown or online minimum, but at least one member of the owning gang must be online)./turfattack stopends every attack without reward or penalty.
Members who log in or rejoin the gang during an attack get the turf marker too.
⚙️ Settings
Everything is in shared/territory.lua under Defense: the timer, the number and size of waves, the attackers' models, weapons, health, armour and accuracy, and the reward and penalty. See the Territory config page.
Set Defense.Enabled = false to turn attacks off, or Defense.Auto.Enabled = false to keep only the admin command.
Turf Guards
Armed NPCs posted on a turf by the server staff. They stand guard for whichever gang owns that turf. Take the turf and they work for you; lose it and they switch to the new owner.
Corner Selling
Drug dealing is built in. Gang members sell to people on the street, haggle for better prices, and watch their heat. Every sale also helps their gang take over turf.
