Ranks & Permissions
Every gang has its own ranks, and every rank has its own permissions. The leader decides who can touch the money, start wars or open the stash.
🪜 How ranks work
- Rank 1 is the leader. The leader always has every permission, and the rank can't be deleted.
- A lower number means a higher rank. You can only fire or change the rank of members below you, and only promote them to ranks below your own.
- The leader can't leave the gang, but can transfer leadership to another member.
- The number of ranks depends on the gang's Rank Slots upgrade: 3 to start, up to 10.
- Ranks are managed on the Ranks page at the hideout desk.
- A rank can only be deleted when nobody holds it.
- Rank editors who aren't the leader can only hand out permissions they have themselves.
🧑🤝🧑 Default ranks
New gangs start with three ranks. Rename and adjust them however you like. Only the leader has Branding by default. Give it to other ranks in the rank editor.

🎭 Aliases
Members can set an anonymous alias from their tablet profile: 3 to 20 characters, using letters, numbers and _ - .. The alias is shown instead of their real name in Dark Chat, on the market and in invites.
