Grappler & Rappel
This document outlines the tactical mobility and pursuit apprehension tools: the Vehicle Bumper Grappler, the Handheld Grapple Gun, and the Wall Rappelling system.
1. Vehicle Bumper Grappler
The Vehicle Grappler (LSPDFR-style bumper mount) tethers your police cruiser directly to a fleeing suspect's rear tyre, forcing them to a controlled stop.
Technical Mechanics:
- Bumper Mount prop: Displays a physical stowed grappler frame (
grapplernoropes) on the cruiser's front bumper. - Raycast Lock: Scans ahead of the cruiser using a capsule raycast (12m range).
- Tether Anchor: Upon lock, deploys the net model (
grapplerropes) and anchors a synchronized physical rope onto the suspect vehicle's rear wheel bone. - Controlled Stops: Automatically pops the suspect's tyre, yanks their handbrake briefly, and limits their maximum speed so they halt safely without a collision.
How to Use In-Game:
- Cruiser Setup: Sit in an authorized police vehicle (model configured in
Config.VehicleGrapple.vehicles). - Arm Grappler: Open your radial menu and select Vehicle Grappler, or type
/vgrapple. The bumper prop will deploy into the armed stance. - Target Suspect: Position your cruiser close behind the fleeing suspect.
- Deploy / Fire (Keybind:
B): Press B (default fire key) to launch the net. Once locked, the suspect's tyres pop, and they will roll to a stop. - Release: Use the radial option again to release the tether.
2. Handheld Grapple Gun
The Grapple Gun allows tactical officers to scale tall structures, climb onto rooftops, or fast-rope down.
Technical Mechanics:
- Scope Targeting: Requires holding a scoped heavy weapon (such as a heavy sniper rifle) to aim and paint the target hook location.
- Synchronization: Spawns a physical synced rope between the officer's hand and the destination point.
- Physics Flight: Pulls the officer smoothly through the air to the targeted coordinates.
How to Use In-Game:
- Enable Grapple Mode: Open the radial menu and select Fire Grapple (or double-click the grapple gun item if items are required).
- Aim Hook: Pull out your sniper rifle and aim (Right-Click) at a ledge, rooftop, or wall.
- Lock Target: A green marker will appear at the landing spot.
- Launch (Keybind:
E): Press E to launch the hook and pull yourself to the target location.
3. Wall Rappel
Allows officers standing on a rooftop edge to safely rappel down the side of the wall.
Technical Mechanics:
- Edge Scanning: Probes the space directly in front of the officer for a drop ledge (minimum 4m drop).
- Rappel Animation: Attaches a wall-sliding rope and plays a synchronized rappel wall descent.
How to Use In-Game:
- Walk up to the edge of a roof or wall drop-off.
- Open the radial menu and select Wall Rappel (or type
/rappel). - Your ped will hook up a rope, turn around, and slide down the vertical wall safely to the ground.
Garage & Armoury
The script features dynamically generated and fully interactive Garage Spawners and Armoury Depots. These replace hardcoded configurations with persistent database catalogs manageable directly in-game.
Helicam
The Helicam system simulates a high-tech surveillance camera mounted on department helicopters, giving air-support units tools to track vehicles and scan streets from above.
