Hunt Editor

Rewrite any legendary story and set its hunts where you want them, all in game. No files to open, no coordinates to type, no restart.
Your legends, your map. Put the Bharati Grizzly's den in a cave you picked, the poachers' camp on a ridge you like, and write the story that goes with it.
๐ช Opening it
Type /hunteditor (Config.Editor.command). Only admins with the ace in Config.Admin.ace can open it.
The legends are on the left. Each shows Edited or Default, and whether it uses Random spots or Hand-placed spots. Pick one to edit it.
๐ The tabs
| Tab | What you change |
|---|---|
| Story | Title, tagline (shown on the board and journal) and the intro |
| Chapters | Each chapter's scene, how many signs lead to it, the trouble waiting there and its story text. Add up to six, remove them, or move them up and down |
| Lair | How the legend behaves (roaming, sleeping, feeding, ambush), the lair scene, rival trouble, an optional animal scenario, guard animals and how many, and the text when it appears |
| Spots | Random or hand-placed spots (see below) |
| Rewards | Story cash, reputation and up to six items |
At the top:
| Button | |
|---|---|
| Save | Stores your changes. They take effect straight away, no restart |
| Test hunt | Starts that story where you stand, skipping rank, region and cooldown. Save first |
| Reset to default | Throws your changes away and goes back to the story in shared/legends.lua |
๐ Hand-placed spots
Random spots (the default) lay the trail and scenes out around the hunter, anywhere the legend roams.
Hand-placed uses spots you choose:
- Open the Spots tab and pick Hand-placed.
- Press Place here on a chapter. The editor steps aside and a see-through copy of that chapter's scene follows you, with a gold ring where it will sit.
- Walk to the spot. Turn it with the left and right arrow keys, hold G to set it, or press Backspace to cancel. The editor comes back with the spot filled in.
- Do the same for every chapter and the lair, then Save.
Go there takes you to a spot you set, so you can check it.
Spots keep their exact height and facing, so caves, cellars and ledges work. Signs still lead from one spot to the next. A hunter who sets out far from the first spot (more than placeReach, 900 metres) picks the trail up near it, and the search circle on the map shows where to ride. Hand-placed hunts can be started from anywhere, not only the regions the legend roams.
Edits are saved in the database (kartik_hunting_legend_edits) on top of shared/legends.lua, so updating the script never overwrites them.
