Smart Vehicle Image Resolution
Garages V2 features an automatic multi-tier image resolution pipeline to render accurate vehicle preview thumbnails in the garage NUI.
🌟 Resolution Pipeline
When displaying a vehicle card or details modal, the UI resolves thumbnails using a 3-tier fallthrough logic:
- FiveM Docs WebP API: Automatically fetches standard GTA V base-game vehicle renders from
https://docs.fivem.net/vehicles/<model>.webp. - Local Custom Image Directory: If the vehicle is a custom or addon car, it checks for a local image placed in
web/images/<model>.png. - Configuration Overrides: Check explicit URL overrides defined in
shared/vehicle_images.lua.
📁 Adding Custom Addon Car Images
To add custom images for your server's addon vehicles:
- Take a screenshot of the vehicle on a transparent background or white backdrop.
- Save the image as a
.pngfile. - Rename the file to the exact lowercased spawn model name (e.g.,
web/images/gtr.pngfor spawn modelgtr). - Rebuild the web asset bundle or restart the resource.
Odometer & Mileage Tracking
Garages V2 features a built-in real-time mileage calculation system that tracks distance driven on every player vehicle.
Police Garage Raids
Police can breach a player's garage, search the vehicles stored inside, and either drive them out or seize them straight to the impound lot. Everything happens in one in-game panel.
