Garage Layouts & Favourites

Players choose how the garage window looks, and pin their favourite vehicles to the top of the list.

🖼️ Three Layouts

LayoutWhat it looks like
ClassicA centred, two-column window: locations and quick actions in a sidebar, the vehicle list beside it.
Side PanelThe garage sits flush against the left or right edge of the screen, full height, so the world stays visible.
CinematicA showroom: an orbiting camera circles the selected vehicle while the player browses.

Players switch with the layout icons next to the search bar, and their choice is remembered. You can also pin everyone to one layout with Config.ForceLayout, which hides the switcher.

Cinematic controls

  • ← / →: browse vehicles
  • Enter: take the vehicle out and drive
  • Tab: switch back to the classic layout
  • Esc: exit

The cinematic layout needs the 3D vehicle preview, so keep Config.EnableVehiclePreview = true.

⭐ Favourites

Click the star next to a vehicle's name to make it a favourite. Favourites always sit at the top of the list, and your chosen sort applies below them. Favourites are saved per player on their own PC.

⚙️ Configuration

shared/layout_config.lua

-- Pin every player to one layout: 'classic', 'sidepanel' or 'cinematic'.
-- false lets them switch between whichever layouts are enabled; naming one hides
-- the switcher, ignores any choice they saved and overrides Config.DefaultLayout.
Config.ForceLayout = false

-- Side panel layout: the garage sits flush against one screen edge, full height,
-- instead of floating as a centred window.
Config.SidePanel = {
    enabled = true, -- offer 'Side Panel' in the layout switcher
    side = 'left', -- which edge it sits against: 'left' or 'right'
    width = 30, -- percent of the screen width
    minWidth = 420, -- px floor, so the list stays readable on narrow screens
}

shared/cinematic_config.lua

-- Default garage layout until the player picks their own: 'classic' or 'cinematic'.
Config.DefaultLayout = 'classic'

-- Orbit "showroom" camera for the cinematic layout (needs EnableVehiclePreview).
Config.CinematicCamera = {
    orbitSpeed = 8.0,   -- degrees per second
    radius = 4.8, -- distance from the car, metres
    height = 1.3, -- camera height above the car, metres
    aimHeight = 0.4, -- aim point up the car, gives a slight downward tilt
    hideRadar = true, -- hide the minimap while previewing
    interp = 500, -- ms to ease in/out of the camera
}
