Kartik Scripts

kartik-mechanic Integration

When kartik-mechanic runs alongside kartik-hud, the two work as one HUD. The mechanic's indicators move into kartik-hud, and the mechanic's own HUD elements switch off. You don't need to set anything up.

๐Ÿ“Š What shows where

Everything below sits in the player status row, next to health, hunger and thirst, and only shows while driving.

Mechanic systemIn kartik-hud
โšก NitroA nitro gauge that drains as you boost. It turns red and blinks when nearly empty
๐Ÿ”ฅ Nitro overheatingHolding nitro too long shows an Overheating status that drains to the blow-up and blinks red
โณ Nitro cooldownDrains while the cooldown runs
๐Ÿ’จ PurgeShown while purging
๐Ÿ›ž TCS / ๐ŸŒ€ ESCLabelled TCS and ESC. Steady green while switched on, flashing yellow while the system is working, hidden while switched off
๐Ÿชข Racing harnessGreen when buckled, amber when not
๐Ÿ”ฅ Anti-lagALS while fitted (off by default)

These parts of the speedometer come from the mechanic too:

Mechanic systemIn kartik-hud
โš™๏ธ Manual / semi gearboxThe speedometer shows the mechanic's gear (R, N, 1, 2โ€ฆ)
๐Ÿ“ MileageThe odometer shows the mileage the mechanic saves for the vehicle (driver only)
๐Ÿชข SeatbeltThe seatbelt light and warning chime follow the mechanic's seatbelt and harness

Players can recolour or hide each mechanic status in /hud โ†’ Player Status, like any other stat.

โš™๏ธ Settings (kartik-mechanic)

These settings live in kartik-mechanic/shared/general.lua:

Config.HUD = {
    -- ...
    Provider = 'auto',   -- 'auto' (kartik-hud when running) | 'kartik-hud' | 'internal'
    KartikHud = {
        Nitro       = true,
        Electronics = true,   -- TCS / ESC
        AntiLag     = false,
        Harness     = true,
        Gears       = true,
        Mileage     = true,
        Seatbelt    = true,
    },
}
  • Set an entry to false to keep that element on the mechanic's own HUD.
  • Provider = 'internal' never uses kartik-hud.
  • If kartik-hud stops, the mechanic's own HUD comes back on its own.

๐Ÿชข Seatbelt

With Config.Seatbelt.provider = "auto" in kartik-hud, the mechanic's seatbelt is used when kartik-mechanic is installed and qbx_seatbelt is not running. The B key, ejection and buckle sounds all come from the mechanic. kartik-hud only shows the light and plays the warning chime.

If the mechanic's seatbelt is turned off (Config.EnableSeatbelt = false), kartik-hud doesn't warn about a belt nobody can buckle. To use kartik-hud's built-in seatbelt instead, set Config.Seatbelt.provider = "internal".

๐Ÿงฉ Using the data in the HUD Builder

Every mechanic status can also be used in HUD Builder designs under Data โ†’ Scripts. For example, you can bind a nitro bar or a TCS light to your own widget. The ids are mech_nitro, mech_tcs, mech_esc, mech_harness, mech_antilag, mech_purge, mech_nitro_overheat and mech_nitro_cooldown.
