Prop Placement Conflicts

Two map packs can decorate the same corner of the city without ever sharing a filename. Conflict Resolver catches those too, it looks at the props themselves, not just the files that hold them.

๐Ÿ”Ž What the Props Tab Finds

Open the dashboard and switch to the Props tab. It lists every prop that more than one map places, split into two kinds:

  • Stacked props: two or more differently-named .ymap files put the same object in essentially the same spot. The game loads both, so the surfaces fight over which one gets drawn. That is the flickering ground, the shimmering wall, and the doubled draw calls costing you FPS in busy areas.
  • Moved props: two maps place the same object in different spots (the distance between them is shown, e.g. "across 4.2m"). One of the packs deliberately moved it, so there is no correct answer for the tool to pick, you choose the placement you want.

Each row shows every map involved, which resource it belongs to, and the exact coordinates.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Resolving One

  1. Click the conflict to open it.
  2. Click the placement you want to KEEP, the others are marked REMOVE.
  3. Hit the fix button. The prop is removed from the other map files, and a restorable backup is taken first.

You can also click the coordinates to fly straight to the prop in the in-world editor and look at it before deciding.

[!NOTE] A few placements can't be edited safely and are skipped with a note instead: maps that link near/far versions of a prop together, and copies that live inside a protected (escrow) resource. See Protected Resources.

๐Ÿ”€ In-Place Merge Review

When two copies of the same map file differ only in where a handful of props sit, the tool offers an in-place merge and shows you exactly what will change before anything is written:

  • Every differing prop is listed as A (from) โ†’ B (to), with the model name and how far it moved.
  • View in editor minimises the window and drops you into the world with the props highlighted, green for A, purple for B.
  • A small floating bar lets you step Prev / Next through each prop, flying the camera to it, then Resume merge when you've seen enough.

Nothing is applied until you confirm, and the originals are backed up.

๐Ÿ‘๏ธ In-World Highlighting

Whenever the tool is comparing two copies of something, it can paint the difference directly into the game world so you can walk around it:

MarkerMeaning
๐ŸŸข GreenOnly in copy A
๐ŸŸก YellowOnly in copy B
๐Ÿ”ต BluePresent in both

Press [ESC] to clear the highlight and return.

๐Ÿ’ก When to Use This

  • Ground or road surfaces that shimmer when you drive over them.
  • A prop that appears twice, or appears in the "wrong" place after installing a new map pack.
  • Before deleting a whole map resource, check whether only a few props actually clash.
