Collecting biological markers is a delicate process that requires specialized tools and techniques.
🧪 Collection Sources
DNA can be recovered from several types of biological evidence:
- Blood Pools: Droplets or pools left after a violent encounter.
- Saliva: Found on used items like masks, cigarettes, or drinking glasses.
- Hair/Fibers: (If enabled in config) found at points of struggle.
🧤 The Swabbing Process
- Equip a Forensic Swab Kit.
- Approach the biological evidence in the world.
- Perform the "Swab Action" via the interaction menu.
- The raw biological sample is secured in a sterile vial and added to your inventory.
🧴 Preservation
Biological samples are sensitive.
- Contamination: If a sample is not bagged correctly, its quality may degrade.
- Lab Requirement: Raw samples cannot be read in the field. They must be taken to a Centrifuge or DNA Scanner for processing.
