DNA Report
The DNA Report provides scientific confirmation of a subject's presence at a crime scene through their unique genetic profile.
🔬 Lab Processing
Before a report can be generated, the raw swab sample must be analyzed:
- Centrifuge: Separates the DNA from contaminants.
- DNA Sequencer: Resolves the sample into a unique alphanumeric profile (e.g.,
DNA-8291-XA). - Processing Time: This is a realistic process that takes time (configurable) to complete.
📄 The DNA Report
Once processed, the results are available in the Forensic Tablet:
- Genetic Profile: The unique identifier for that specific DNA.
- Matched Subject: If the DNA is on file (from a previous arrest or medical record), the subject's name is displayed.
- Confidence Rating: Indicates the purity of the sample collected.
🖇️ Cross-Case Matching
The DNA profile is indexed across the entire system. If the same DNA is found at another scene, even months later, the system will automatically alert you to the "Serial Match" within the report.
