Temperature
The body temperature core shows how warm the player feels, not just the air. The clock shows the air temperature.
🧮 What changes it
| Factor | Effect |
|---|---|
| Air temperature | The base, from the game world |
| Clothing | Coats, ponchos, cloaks, gloves, hats and more add warmth (Config.Temperature.clothing) |
| Fire | Standing near a campfire, stove or fireplace adds warmth and dries you off |
| Indoors | Pulls you toward room temperature |
| Wet | Swimming, rain and snow soak you, and being wet makes you colder |
| Warm food and drink | Coffee, tea, stew and spirits give a short warmth boost |
🥶 Cold and 🥵 hot
- Below the comfort range (default 4°C) the player is Freezing: the health core drains, then health, and the screen frosts over.
- Above it (default 31°C) the player is Overheating: thirst drains faster and the screen warms up.
- A warning tells players what to do, at most every 90 seconds.
The comfort range, clothing warmth, fire models and effects are all in Config.Temperature. Set enabled = false to turn the whole system off.
