Explosives Evidence
Investigating a blast site requires a systematic approach to recovering fragments and chemical traces of the detonated device.
📡 Automatic Blast Tracking
The system handles the complexities of explosionEvents automatically:
- Blast Center: Pinpoints the exact origin of the explosion.
- Remnant Spawning: Based on the weapon type (Molotov, Pipe Bomb, C4, etc.), the system spawns realistic physical props representing the remains of the device.
🧩 Recoverable Remnants
Investigators can search the blast radius for several types of physical evidence:
- Metallic Shards: Parts of the casing or container.
- Wiring & Components: Remains of the trigger mechanism or battery.
- Adhesive Residue: Traces of tape or glue used in construction.
🧪 Chemical Swabbing
Even after a complete detonation, chemical traces remain.
- Unreacted Compounds: Use a swab kit on surfaces near the blast to find unreacted explosive material (e.g., C4 residue, gunpowder).
- Accelerants: For incendiary explosions (like Molotovs), identify the specific fuel or chemical mix used to start the fire.
🔬 Post-Blast Reconstruction
By cataloging these remnants, investigators can use the Forensic Tablet to reconstruct the "Device Profile," helping to identify if the bomb was homemade or military-grade and potentially linking it to a suspect's inventory.
